Does anyone know for sure, when you take the $1000.00 rebate from Ford Finance how many payments you have to make before you pay it off?
Dealer told me 4 or there is a penalty.
Thanks,
jr

VERY vague comment, how about some numbers, interest rate, length of loan, amount borrowed, just for starters? year of vehicle? Penalty for What? paying the rebate off?
No, not vague at all. I was told that I had to make 3 payments, but I will call Ford Credit before I pay it off. If I need to make 4 then that is OK. I just do not want to screw up.

Sorry what I'm trying to find out is how many payments you have to make on a loan from Ford credit when you take the $1000.00 rebate before you can pay it in full without a penalty. Term of loan or balance makes no difference. I'm talking about the current rebate on a new vehicle.

WHAT VEHICLE ARE YOU PURCHASING? There are rebates for all models.

I didn't think it was vague either, makes no difference whether I financed $ 1 or $ 10000 . I was told 4 payments. @ 5.9 percent I'd like to buy it out with a 2.9 percent through my credit union.

Yeah I know, but it's more fun to ask and besides it helps my post count .

I apologize, you had me so pissed off last night, but basically I was pissed off at FORD finance/dealer for screwing people. That $1000 rebate is useless if you have to make 3-4 payments at 5.9% and then buyout/switch to 2.9% after that, as another poster commented, The amount of interest saved at 2.9% without taking the $1000 rebate is ENORMOUS.
I was TOLD 3 payments.. The paperwork said no pre-payment penalty.
The credit union was a little over a point less than ford credit..
I just received a nice letter from FC saying Paid Off and here is a check.. you sent us too much.. ($13).

Hey looks like I got ripped off they told me I overpaid and only sent me a check for $12 and some change.
I was also told 3 payments, so I made the first three when I signed the paperwork then 21 days later transfered it to my credit union for 1.9%.
