Prob. just an old tire not on a rim and a pickup, maybe a pallet. I have a hoist. Like I said I've never seen it run, I know it's not locked up, and just knowing those motors, not much goes wrong and they're easy to build and the price is right.

Just did a little searching same pattern, 300,302,351w. The difference is the flywheel, v8's are externally balanced the !-6 is internally, I know I have a flywheel for it but I know there was a manual transmission, from what I read it still works. Not the other way way.EX-if you were going to manual trans from auto, and the flywheel was from a auto. because there is no grooves machined for the clutch plate. That's not my area of expertise, just telling ya what I read. Worse case you would need a flywheel, but your welcome to the one that came off of it.

Easy swap. You'll need a flex plate like Charlie said. You move the motor mount perches forward, and it will drop right in. You'll need some I6 motor mounts. You'll also need a I6 radiator, the top and bottom hoses are reversed on the v/8's. Let me know if you need anything.

Is there anthing I need to worry about with the computer on the truck now. I mean does it control anything with the tranny. I know I wont be hooking up the harness for the fuel injectors but are there issues that I am unaware of when going from FI to carb?

You will have to go old school, and rewire the truck. Your going to need some kind of ignition, I'd probably go with duraspark II, unless you want to run points. All doable. there's a lot of threads in the I6 section dealing with this swap

The dsII swap is easy, alot of guys in my old truck club do that with their old 240/300's. Didn't know about the radiator. Thats why I was hoping Charlie would chime in.

Holy cow, it's older than I thought, the cast# on the block C6XX- which makes it a 66', which means it could be a 240, they share the same block as do 331,352, 360, 390 FE's share the same block. casting # on the intake is a D4XX which would be 74'. But like Ford does they may use the same casting # for the 300's maybe til the late 60's? Example=I have a 352 FE, 390's, 360's are all stamped 352 on the block, usually on sale day everybody claims they have a 390, that was the most desirable. You can't tell by looking at them, only way is by bore and stroke. Doesn't matter one way or the other.

1. Is the dip stick in the block?
2. Is the oil pan hump front, middle, or back?
