Hi everyone,
Ive used Lucus products for years in Gas'ers & was thinking of adding their Fuel Injector Cleaner/Upper Cyclinder Lube to my 6.0's fuel tank.
This is my first diesel so iam curious what u guys think
I think not. Nothing in the fuel but a good cetane booster/lubricant. Power Service or Stanadyne are mostly used here. The biggest two detriments to your injectors are dirty oil and low fuel pressure. Change the oil every 5,000 miles and use only OEM filters including the fuel filters. The blue spring press. reg. is also a good upgrade for your fuel press.
Do a search for K100D it is made by kinetic labs in new york. When I was the parts pro for advance auto parts I want to one of their Demo's and this stuff is amazing!!! Been using it in everything I drive for the last 10 years.
I have been using the Amsoil Diesel Concentrate and Cetane Boost since my first 7.3. Most of the products on that list are hard to find around here. The most common one other than the Amsoil is the Diesel Kleen.
I use the Power Service in the grey jug & use the ratio that increases the cetane rating by 6 . I'm not aware of any product the increases it that much. Some brands say up to 5% but that's only about a cetane rating of 3. Any info on better products would be appreciated. My 6.0 runs like a swiss watch & I want to do everything I can do to keep it this way.
Where do you buy Stanadyne? I never seen one bottle in the numerous Walmart or part store that I came across. Does it say Stanadyne on the bottle or they use another name?
