2005 Expedition Keyless Entry Pad

I just bought a used 2005 Expy 5.4L, there is no keyless entry pad on the drivers door, however the original owners manual was in the vehicle and inside the zip up cover there was the original card from Ford with the factory keypad code. This has me confused why there would be a factory keypad code for a vehicle with no keypad. I haven't got a chance to look under the passenger side dashboard to see if the module is there. Any ideas/thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Maybe the manual and card were from another vehicle.

Is it an Eddie Bauer model? Does the owners manual pack in fact belong to that vehicle? Look up there under the passenger's kick panel and see if the code on the card matches the code on the security module decal. Then look for evidence of the door being replaced and other accident repair work. Did you get a carfax report on the Expy before you bought it?

It’s an XLT model, I believe the owners manual does belong to this vehicle because there were old insurance cards from 2006 in it with the original owners name (it was a one owner). No evidence of any accidents. The carfax showed no reported accidents. I haven’t had a chance to look at the module yet, I will try to when the wife gets home from work.

Ok, 'cause I thought the keyless entry keypad only showed up on the Eddie Bauer and Limited lines. I could be wrong though, got a bad memory ...

You are correct, not available on the XLT.

Ok, thanks. I guess maybe it was just a fluke that there was a factory code card in there. Thanks again.

My Expedition is an XLT (SSV) and has the keyless entry pad.

I just checked, the code on the module under the dash matches the card. I’m starting to think the door has been replaced even though there’s no evidence of it.

I had checked the options through Edmunds. They showed it wasn’t available. 12 year old data.

Use Ford Etis to check what options and such was installed on the vehicle from factory using VIN:
