I used to think those tail lights looked kinda cool, but after seeing how the look when the bulb lights up, I'd never get them. They end up looking pink and dim. Also, they are totally illegal. I have known a few different people that drove for 2-3 days and got cited for them on both Ford and Chevy trucks.
Cant say im a huge fan of them... And I know that they would be illegal here just because of the white rear reflectors.
Actually, it's from the lack of RED reflectors...
Federal law mandates that all rear facing lights used for marking a vehicle/braking purposes, need to have a certain % of the light, a red, reflective material...
That's why I got the ones I did....DOT Officers, etc aren't so apt to jump me...lol

That is why you need a QUALITY LED bulb. 2 of my truck have those exact lights and they are brighter than stock. As for the red reflector, I have not been bothered in the past 10 years about it. Now if my trucks were some ragged out POS, or driving like and Idiot I could see getting hassled

Well my friend's trucks were not POS's. They were just driving to or from work. It was also daytime.
You may have a good point about the type of bulb being used.
Regardless, I'd never buy them.
For some reason the only aftemarket lights I like are the clear parking lights that match the factory headlights and side markers. Sometimes I actually think about putting the stock amber lights back on the front .
Never did care for the clear tail lights. I will however admit they look good on some trucks depending on the color. The only aftermarket lights I like are the frosted park lights. Hard to find though.

I agree, black looks good, maybe dark blue, white. Not for every truck, though. I can easily say they would look like crap on my truck with the color it is now. Maybe not so bad when I paint it black though.
