Customer Satisfaction program 12B33

I recieved a letter today on my 2011 f-350 superduty

Customer satisfaction program12B33.
letter states,
On your vehicle, the Nitrogen Oxide [nox] sensor in the exhaust system may become inoperative and cause the check engine light to turn on. If the nox sensor is inoperative, engine power may be reduced under some conditions.
Then it states that they will reprogram the pcm and nox module and if necessary replace nox sensor free of charge until April 30,2013.
Just wondering if anyone else recieved this letter.

I received the same letter today. Have no idea what it means. Guess I'll call my dealer next week and find out. My truck runs perfect and always has.

I just received one today in the mail. I have read a lot of people on this site having nox sensor problems / replacements so I think I will get it done soon. Must be a fairly common or a bigger problem than we may know if they are sending out all these letters IMO.

Received mine also.
Dealer had sent me their own notice a week or two ago.

Got one of those today. It says that the procedure could take half a day to complete. It is due for a service in June so they can do the recall at the same time.

I got the same letter yesterday. I read a post on here by "M-Chan68" that said on one particular truck he worked on reprogramming the PCM to the latest calibration failed to fix the NOx sensor from tripping the CEL...and the end result was to replace the NOx module to finally repair the issue. My truck is schedule to go into the dealership this Friday, I am bringing a printout with "M-Chan68" comments and see what the mechanic says..I will post the outcome.

All of you who received this letter, I did too BTW, have you previously had your PCM updated that includes the new calibrations that also contains a change to where the lighting of the Water In Fuel indicator is now stored?

I have not got my truck's PCM updated to where the WIF indicator is now something retained in memory. Not trying to be too pessimistic on this...more so curious.

Opinions???

I too received the same letter this Friday. I never had a check engine light come on. The truck is 2011 with a build date of 11/3/10 and the truck now has 11,000 miles on the odo. The only problem I have had is 2 shift flares between 4000 and 7000 miles and those were fixed with TSB 11-4-21 done on 7/22/11.

Got the same letter today and I was thinking of holding off also. Curious to see the experiences of other members first.

I got my letter today and am holding off for a while. I'm at 23K miles, no CEL's and no shifting issues. I guess my question is does this update just go after the NOx sensor issue or does it capture all of the other flashes as well? I have no desire to do any flashes if my truck is running fine.

I got mine today as well. I've got to get the truck in next week for some shifting issues so I'm going to ask the tech about it then.
