Shifting Problems
I have a '94 F-150 with a 302, automatic trans. and the thing is constantly shifting. I spend most of my time driving in drive, I rarely let it shift into overdrive unless I'm driving with a strong tailwind. I don't know if my motor is just that worn out (176000 miles) that it just doesn't have the power anymore, or if there is something with the trans. I've changed the fluid recently, and it still shifts. If anyone else has this problem or knows why my truck might be doing this, I'm up for any advice. If anyone needs anymore info, just let me know. Thanks for whatever you can provide.

Shifting Problems
I can simply share with you what my experience was. My 93 used to shift quite often, but only when I used the cruise control. We live on flat land, but even small hills would make it kick down. Well eventually I had to rebuild my heads due to a burned exhaust valve in the #8 cylinder. After I put them back on, the difference was night and day. Where it used to shift in and out all of the time, it hardly did now.
I know this is not hard facts, just my observations. My engine only had 160,000 miles, but maybe all of the valves were wore enough to make a difference? I dont know, but the difference was there. For what its worth...
