That's not a modified '05 grille; that is a grille from a pre- '05 Super Duty.

Reno is a long drive for me, it seems hard to find an ex with under a million miles debating on driving out there to check it out. Do you guys think $23k is a fair price?
Do not trust carfax! It can take a year for an accident report to find its way on to a carfax. I learned the hard way. Have someone use a paint detector to see if any of the body panels have been painted.

However, with that being said. I am not afraid of vehicles that have been in accidents as long as they check out OK by someone that is a real expert. I would be more worried about pretty much unrepairable damage like rust.

I would too, but I think I know why that front end is on there...

I was involved in an accident January 2009 and the shop that I trusted to fix my truck put the wrong headlights and grill on. Had I not come to see my truck, they would have given it back to me that way and wasted my time.

My guess is that the header panel was practically destroyed in whatever accident it was in, so they ordered what they thought was the right front end and let that be that. Either that or it was an insurance job and they bought it thinking they could sell it.

Check out zip code 76513 (central Texas) and search for 500 miles around it

Tons and tons of 4x4 2005 X's with decent mileage and in great NO RUST shape. I periodically drool over them when I get a car buying itch.

That is a 2001 or older Super Duty front end. Starting in 02 the head lamps lenses and the turn signal lenses were clear. There aren't even any fog lights on it. That thing must of got into an accident and some retard put older front end parts on it.

This 04 has banks intake and exhaust currently no chips, price seems ok, there are a few in Texas, but if I don't have to fly or ship would be a plus. http://palmsprings.craigslist.org/ctd/2975893699.html

This is just my opinion but I would stay away from the 6.0L diesel's.
