Accidently placed this in the 6.8 Modular Forum yesterday. I hope this is the place I might find an answer.
So.... I have what might be an unusual inquiry. XM/Sirus Antenna permanently mounted on the top of the CAB.....I have a nice big beautiful Eagle Cap Camper right over the top of the Antenna. So.... No XM while Camper is on. Does anyone know how to get to the XM /Sirus Antenna Jack on the back of the Dash mounted Radio / CD player etc.....I WANT to plug in a seperate XM antenna so I can mount it out on the Hood etc....So I can use the built in XM / Sirus Radio. Oh and this is a new to me 2011 F-350.
None of my radios had the xm they we're just xm ready.
I had to have the xm module installed and that plugged into the xm/sirius port on the back of the radio.
On my last install I had them put it into the glove box so I can access it allot easier.
Are you looking for instructions on how to get to the back of the radio? If so, I've had the dash apart a number of times and what Marauder92V wrote below (from an old post down in the 6.7) forums covers it.
You will need to remove the inserts that hold the power adapter on the left side of the panel and the USB/line in on the right side. Insert screwdriver in the slot under these inserts and gently push in while pulling up -- don't pry. You are trying to compress two clips on the top.
After removing those inserts, you will see a 7mm bolts on each side. Remove those.
After removing those, grasp the bottom of the wood panel trim and gently pull up and out. Just about the time you think it is going to snap in two, it will pop out.
The radio has 4 bolts of the same size as the two lower ones.
the sirius unit in my '09 is located at the steering column right under the dash . i just unplugged the roof unit and plugged in a mag base antenna and put it on the hood . it might be there on yours . save ya from pulling the radio out .
