I have taken matters into my hands and gone after trucks that are not for sale. I know what I am after and Thursday could be a very good day....
So, that was you at the gas station trying to buy my truck? lol I get people trying to buy-trade all the time at gas stations, mostly the 6.0 & 6.4 guys.
Yeah, I found that site shortly after posting here, but they can keep their damn parts! I want to buy parts, not shipping. The bendix gear I need is only $11, but the shipping is $10. If I buy the whole starter, it's only $99, but the shipping is $56. That's just for USPS Priority mail.
I've found another site where I can get a rebuild kit that includes the solenoid, bendix, brush holder ***’y, bushings and snap rings for $35, but they're on vacation for 2 weeks and the site is shut down for ordering.
My wife wanted a auto because her hip is giving her problems shifting her beetle. Found a 2002 beetle with 60K that is almost perfect shape. Drives and shifts good too. Haven't bought it yet but Monday we just might get the TDI. Wish now I had taken a picture. Unless I have Nate's problem and it gets taken before we get back to it.

Glenn, I wish you the best in the purchase!
As for my luck. I had to make it happen, the jury is still out on the result but it is in the driveway.
