SD 17 HPOP-Nate (if it'll work in his truck)

I also have my E4OD still sitting here that may have a new home. Alex said he's working on a deal? Not sure, but it's here.

I'm at least moving in the right direction to get this build going.
Speaking of this, does anyone know what exactly is involved in getting a SD 17* HPOP to work on a '95 engine? I have seen varying answers from needing to mod the front cover to make it work with the redesigned anti-drainback valve to guys that have said that they just threw them on and it ran perfectly. I'm trying to decide whether it's worth the effort or not.

Either way, I do appreciate you thinking of me Todd. I'm just having a hard time making the truck a priority right now because there are so many other things going on. It seems like I have too many irons in the fire at the moment and I'm having a hard time making the truck a priority (since it still runs just fine with 400k+ on the clock ).

AHHHH PHIL! I wish I was still at school over there. I went the past 2 years! Always a good time. I loved seeing some of the local boys (from Rockton IL) at the finals. Here at the Boone County fair pulls me and Tom just attended a few of them had qualified. Look for the "Black Sheep"!!!

YAY STAGE 2s! lol
And yeah I am still trying to get a hold of Brian from BTS. Pricing stuff out and seeing if there is a way to use your E40D for the build. I dont see why it wouldnt be an issue cuz I think he only uses the valve bodies and the case itself?
Anyway, was hoping he would build yours and install that, and my trans would be able to get passed on to someone who would need it.
Just seems to be a shame to tear apart a good trans. I have no paperwork, but the two PO were brothers and said the trans was rebuilt with an upgraded TC and more clutch packs. So a mild upgrade, but its held so far!
We'll see. Certainly dont hold it for me if something else comes along.

Any of you ever seen this guy? He is awesome. Makes me so jealous! We saw him this last week at the State Fair, and Bill and I were just standing there in awe!

Yeah, that's what I thought. Think it's worth it? With my stock sticks I don't need it, and when I upgrade someday (hopefully) I always assumed I would just get a T-500. If the 17* would run 1's or 2's I think it would be worth it.

Its not worth anyone's time anymore to mod a front cover when Joey can mod an early model 15* housing with 17* guts in it. See if he'll take that 17* and a core early pump to make a T500.

I don't think it's worth. If you mess up trying to mod it then the engine come out and to change covers it has to come out.

That's kind of my thought too. The 2 for 1 deal is a no-go too since I was talking with Todd about swapping his 17* for my 15* so he could send it in as his core for the pump he needs, thus I wouldn't have a core 15* to give to the cause.
