I have a Late 70s grill I am selling, I had a guy call me the other day and ask if it would work in is 72. I do not know, has any one tried this? Can It be done? I am not thinking so but i do not know for sure.
I don't think it would work on 73-79 models (6th generation). The reason being that 5th generation pickups 67-72 had turn signals on the bottom of the grill where as 73-79 had them on top. rewiring would be a must and the grill "bolt-brackets" on the front of the truck may not line up nicely so fab work would be necessary...or the guy could just find the right grill for his truck.
No 1973/79 F100/350 grille will fit 1967/72 F100/350's. The 1973/79 hood can be use on 1967/72's, but there is much more involved than just bolting it on.
1973/77 F100/350's use the same grille shell, the R/L grille inserts are the same 1973/75, 1976/77's are slightly different.
1978/79 F100/350's & Bronco's use a different grille shell and one piece grille inserts. Some peeps call this the "fish mouth" grille.
