Tool boxes

I was wondering if anybody could recommend any good tool boxes for a 1997 F250 HD Crew Cab or any good websites that sell tool boxes. Thanks in advance.

I have a UWS tool box. The Lid is filled with foam or something like it. The foam makes the lid rigid and it doesn't flex at all. it closes everytime. and it looks good to. The best toolbox I have ever had and used.

I have a Husky brand box from Home Depot. It's about 5 years old now and I have been very happy with it.

I have a better built and its been a good box. Have to tweak it every once in a while, buddy got a little wild loading his 4 wheeler and pushed it in a little bit. If ya can afford it a weatherguard is the way to go. Really sturdy and weather proof.

i took the advice of others on here and picked up (off of craigslist) a weather guard tool box. they are a very solid box. fraction of the cost of a new one. when i looked for a box i would ask myself could i stand on the lid (im 6' 2" 235) with out it flinching. i dont know about the others by my weather guard can hold me with ease.

My father bought a steal Reading in 1988 for his F150, then I used it on my '97 Ram and in 2003 I bought a steel weather Guard because the reading was starting to rot out and needed new gas shocks for the lid (not bad for 15 years). I am still using the weather guard and it started to show rot on one corner of the lid last year, so I fixed it and repainted it. I don't think Reading makes the same box that I had anymore, but the Weather guard was expensive (as was the Reading) but has served me well and would probably buy another.

I picked up one from Northern Tool that fits under the tonneau cover and is easily removed for when I need to haul the Genie lift or something like that. I promptly removed the Northern Tool placard and plugged the holes as they didn't pay me enough to advertise for them.

What's your budget? You can find them from $100 to $1,000. For example I've got a steel Rawson Koenig (RKI) in my old 1/2 ton that 2 men could stand on and not deform it, but it also takes those same 2 men to pick it up. I got it at dealer cost and it was pushing $300 10yrs ago. It was too wide for my F250 shortbed so I got a cheap narrow one from Tractor Supply for less than $150. I can pick that one up myself and nearly throw it.

Just sold a nice Rawson-koenig RKI C63A box to a guy with a truck like yours. Good box! I the inner sliding tool tray is what really sells it. It slides to either side and then locks in the middle. Only sold it because I tow and need a flush mount box.

I have a Husky flush mount box that I got from Home Depot and have been using for years. Not quite as beefy or as good of a build quality as the RKI box but for the price it does the job and looks decent.

Love my weatherguards! You know it's a good box when it's as heavy as they are, many cheaper boxes use thinner material, cheaper locks and hinges, so they bend easily, are easier to break into, and don't hold up as well.
