I was wondering if anyone has found a plastic model of the 80-86 f150. I found a 80 bronco and a 87 f250 before I settle for one of these I thought I would ask here.
I found the 80 bronco a few weeks back. I'm not sure if I want to get it. Monogram made it. I wish the AMT Ertl models were still around. I think they had better quality.
I have one of the Monogram 1980 4x4 Stepsides. It is a typical Monogram kit from the 80's in that it is fairly simplified, but builds up into a nice truck. I built mine as my first truck, an '81. I am looking for another to build my current 1982 stepside. This kit was also later modified at one time or another into a monster truck, but can be combined with the Bronco to build a stock pickup. This might be cheaper and easier to find...

Lot of truth here. I remember these the THE THING when I was a kid (early 90s) and now you can barely find them. Forget finding the big kits. I remember when I was 6 I got a kit that had every generation of the f150 in it. Dad and Papa and I must have spent 4 months off and on with them. Even had the "new prototype" 97 in there.
Same thing with puzzles. I had surgery last summer and went before to look for a good puzzle to do. EVerything is ugly as sin and dark. No trains, abandoned trucks, cities. Bunch of cats and European streets.
You don't like change, I used to buy AMT kits for $1.25 at the hobby shop in Norview where I grew up. They were the old 3 in 1 kits. I probably still have some of the models in my attic (I will find out when I move later this summer). Even had a bunch of the Revell kits including a Chrysler turbine car. Before I was old enough to drive, I built tons of them. For puzzles, have you tried any of the puz 3D ones? They will keep you occupied.
Oh yea. I went to a middle school for 'gifted kids.' A few of the more scholarly ones used to see who could put one together the fastest. By then I was repair lawn mower engines out of my mom's house and had an 84 BMW I tore apart/ partially reassembled.
