There was a discussion about the Bonus Built truck jacks when "Julie" was still around. The conclusion made was that the jack was a hydraulic bottle type that screwed down into the floor near the fuel tank. The same jack was used for several decades later and is still similar to most bottle type jacks found in Ford Ranger pick up trucks.

Thanks for the info . It makes sense that things like radios heaters and jacks were supplied at the dealer . Still a common practice at Ford truck dealers .

If you go into my pictures you can see my jack. Apparently the jack was also used to set the camber when doing a front end alignment. Ive never done it but one of the books I have showed it being done. The jack has kind of a flip over top.

Thanks 49m47 . I went through your pictures and I may be able to find a similiar jack.
By the way the last thing a guy from Alberta wants to see is pictures of snow you should be ashamed of yourself .LOL

I live in St. Louis Mo. but I bought the truck from a guy in Vulcan Alberta CA. That picture of the truck in the snow is actually one of the pics that he sent me while we were working "The Deal"

I have the stock jack that tucks into the well by the gas tank...it's not a bottle jack. I'll snap a pic when the rain clears & post it.

Jack

Oldmerc

The Jack that came with my 50 Merc was a bottle type Jack but not hydraulic, it was the crank type with the folding handle that had a coupler that slid over the handle to keep it in place, the handle that is.

The Jack was stored on the passengers side to the outside of the seat at reat. The base of the Jack at one corner had a hole in it to put a thumb bolt through that went into the floor, i believe it was a 5/16 thread.

This secured the Jack from moving around the cab, and I stored the folding handle in the tool box on top of the gas tank, hpoe this helps.

Horn

Oldmerc

Forgot about the Horn it was a single one that mounted in a verticle position on the driver's side up front in the grille section. The opening facing in a downward position.

The stock horns were mounted horizontally on the underside of the hood.
