1-inch wide whitewalls?

Okay, so this doesn't relate to Ford trucks, but I thought maybe someone here could help me out. I need a set of 175/80R-13 whitewalls for my '65 Corvair (trying to get it ready for Concours judging) with 1-inch wide whitewalls. All I can find are 1/2 inch. I've tried Tire Rack, Cokers, just about every place on the 'Net and nothing. Cokers has 'em in bias-ply, which I won't drive on, and they're a $100 each- OUCH! Any ideas would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

MarkII,

Did you try

www.widewhitewalltires.com

Supposedly they can vulcanize any size whitewall you want.

Might want to check them out if you haven't. If you have, oops, that's all I can help.

Good luck

Thanks for the info. I received a mailer from that company several years ago, but I couldn't find them on the web. I e-mailed them my question, hopefully I'll hear something soon. Again, thanks for the tip.
