OK is it possible to just get the spindles from a 73-79 f250 2wd and swap them on to my 72 f250? What's the difference? If it makes a difference my I beams have a D2 year Id part number.
I can't find a 73-79 donor for the I beams and all but I'm going to Charlotte to the auto fair to see about parts.
Not sure if this helps, I kind of had a similar situation. I have a 78 parts truck that I was using for the power steering and power disc brakes. My 68 had a rebuilt front end in it already, so I was going to swap my 78 disc spindles onto my 68. I took it to a shop, they said it would work but something had to be machined to separate the spindles from the Ibeams. Now im not sure if that was what really needed to be done, but my patience wouldnt allow me to wait. So I just threw on the 78 susp under the 68. Long story short, I now have my original rebuilt 68 suspension with power drum brakes and power steering.

1968/72 F250 2WD's and F350's were available with dual piston caliper disc brakes as an option.
Disc brakes became standard equipment in 1973 F250 2WD's and F350's.
1973/79 F250 2WD's: There are two different types of disc brake calipers as it depended on the GVW.
Some 1973/79 F250's have single piston calipers, some have dual piston calipers.
Not only are the calipers different, but so are the spindles, proportioning valves and other bits and pieces.
Buying parts piece-meal (especially at a swap meet-where you have to believe what the sellers claim) to do a disc brake conversion is a bad idea.
Are you in a hurry? Prolly not, so look for a 1973/79 F250 2WD donor with DUAL piston calipers, get all the parts from it, make sure to record what the parts come from.
Besides the rotors/calipers, dust shields and etc., you will need the disc brake proportioning valve, master cylinder/booster, brake lines and all the suspension/steering related parts.
