AOD to C6 help!

I blew up the 4th built aod in my truck and determined they are ****. I decided to swap to a 79 f150 c6 with mild modifications like an r-code servo e-code apply lever and a revmax billet 3600 stall converter. I got the tranny in the truck modified the shift linkage to work and modified the tranny cooler lines to work. I am having trouble finding a wiring diagram for my 89 f-150 aod wiring harness and the c6 wiring harness I would like to know what wires to hook together to make the reverse lights and neutral safety switch to work. I figured out the flexplates are different :-( but I have the one off of the 79 f-150 that should work, my real question is will the aod starter work with a c6 flexplate and a c6? It bolts up but I don't have the flexplate in yet

figured i would give some details of the swap for people who may be doing this in the future (i still need the starter and the wiring question answered)

the c6 4x4 tranny out of a 79 f-150 is .5in shorter than a 89 f-150 4x4 aod, if you are lifted (like i am) you will probably need a new driveshaft or redrill the center bolt in your leaf springs and move the rear axle forward .5in

the shift linkage will work from the aod to the c6, i did not get the bracket that bolts to the tranny for the c6 but if you turn the aod bracket backwards and bolt it to the c6 it works.

the tranny cooler lines are completely different you will have to cut one of the lines and extend it about a foot to get it to work with a c6

the tranny mount from the aod bolts right into the c6 and bolts right up to the crossmember

the flexplate is different from a aod to a c6

i am not sure about the starter either one of you will tell me or i will find out tonight

and the harness on the truck for an aod does not plug into the neutral safety switch on the c6 and i need wiring diagrams to figure out how to hook them up, after i figure it out i will let you all know (hopefully someone will throw me a bone here because i cannot for the life of me find any diagrams)

Can`t help much other than to say that the two red wires on the C6 NSS are for the starter switch, other two are the backup lights.
I would guess that the AOD NSS also has two red wires for the starter.

Found some good information on pirate about the nss. Took my flex plate over to the local machine shop and had it balanced to the same balance at the one that is balanced to the rotating assembly.

Also found out some interesting info ford phased out the 28oz flex plate between 1980 and 1981 and switched to the 50oz flex plate. I ended up having a 28oz flex plate on my 347 And a 50oz flexplate

This was only on the 302. The 351w's were always 28oz

Also, the original AOD flexplate is OK on a C6 (as long as you have the correct balance for the motor), but not the reverse.

Using the AOD flexplate (& probably a C6 flexplate too), you can use your starter with no problem.

On my truck (83 - but I didn't think they changed for a long time) the reverse light wires were purple; the NSS wires were red/blue.

I did the same swap about a year ago, before going manual.

The aod starter works with the c6 flywheel I got it all together tonight to find out the front pump to torque converter seal leaks so I guess it's coming back out again... 4th time it's been in and out for various problems
