hello , all!! i have a question for headers i want to find or have for my 81' F250 4wd , originally had 351M but i swapped over 429 i know this is alike 460 but where do or what type of header should i get , i have heard of shortys, or long?? also where do i find any? i plan to have 3 inche s body life and 6 inche suspension lift if this helps, seen some in EBAY but not sure if will fit my body style or frame?? any help will be pleased!!
You will want a set of headers that will fit an 83 - 87, 4x4, F-250 or F-350, with a 460. Application wise, these should fit your truck fine. I think the 2 wheel drive might be the same.
As far as recommendations on brands or styles, I'll leave that to someone else.

I've been looking around and posting on this subject for some time and can tell you that the 4X4 will make a difference if you have a solid front axle with leaf springs. I have an 86 F-350 with that and have had alot of fun looking around.
Check out Sanderson, they have a set of Shorty's that they claim to have worked on with Flotech or Flowmaster can't remeber which. They look like they exit the chasis same place as stock manifolds.
Thorley says there Tri-Ys fit the 4WD but I am still trying to verify that.
LandL says there's will not fit the 4WD unless you use a fender exit set.
Flotech claims to have a set that fits but several responses to past posts does not give good reviews for them or Heddmen or Hooker for one reason or another.
If you try something out that installs well let me know will ya?
