Ok, I have tried my press, a propane torch and hammering the hell out of them but they just won't budge. And yes, I have removed the keeper pins. Anyone know any other trick I might try?
I didn't want to hear that. I have an acetylene torch and a rosebud tip but no tanks, any suggestions on the best place to get tanks? Small, inexspensive tanks. Perhaps I should just take it to a shop?
Is your truck driveable and have all parts for a quick fix?
The truck is driveable, the king pins I'm trying to remove are from a 1978 F100. I want to convert my 68 F100 to disc brakes and I have the 78 F100 parts truck at a friends farm. I removed the entire I-beams and brought them into my garage inorder to remove the spindles. What a job.
****, I was going to suggest just stopping by United Rentals. I mean for one time use I'd look into borrowing. But Acklands really only place in town to go
Id check out Linde on 51st if you want to get any sort of tanks. I bought my miller welder from there, and Im not sure if they gave me a good deal on the tanks cause i bought so much other stuff, but they were really fairly priced from there.
If you dont find anyone in the next little bit sure. Im pretty busy up intil mid next week, maybe next weekendish, but Im sure I can clear a spot on the bench and dig my torches out by then!
Morris I got my argon and tri mix gas stuff for my mig from there, and when I went there I had inquired about oxy acetylene tanks cause mine are pretty old, and most likely not safetiable any more, and they had told me they sold them. That was last year and I didnt actually buy any oxy acetylene tanks either, but that is what they had told me anyways.
