I calculated my fuel over. 1200 miles the last three days and had 7.834 mpg. Half of that was towing a light trailer and the return trip I had 3k lbs on truck and seven on the trailer. Mostly hiway 65 mph.
My LOM said I was averaging 9.3 mpg. When I calculated it I was actually getting 1.5 mpg less than indicated. I was hoping it was out to my favour. Oh well I like the truck.
I've never been in a V10 other than the 3v, but if the 2v has that feel when you step on the go petal like the 3V the mileage doesn't seem so bad. Plus the BSEG it brings.

What I was saying was that I didn't buy it thinking it was a sports car same as I didn't buy it expecting 20mpg. It will definitly light up all four back tires though.
Is there anyway to set the RPMs at 65-70mph to
Go to 1200-1500 rpm for better MPG?
Can a custom tune do this?
Changing the final gear ratio in differentials is about the only way to change that rpm at 65 mph. Tire changed to a larger diameter effectively does the same thing but at a weight, rolling resistance and an air resistance penalty. There is no magic wand waving (tuners) for good gas mileage on a V10
