I've got a new pump and want to replace the old one.
My problem: I can't disconnect fuel line from the pump and/or from the carburetor. What ever I tried I only stripping nuts more
Please help me!
Use a line wrench if you have it, usually works. If you still can't get it off, vise grips and bend up some new stuff. I had to replace it on all my trucks due to rounded off fittings.
the tubing wrenches are your only chance...and yeah, even with those you won't get them all off cleanly on a flare nut that's been on there for 30+ years.
if your flare nuts are that messed up, you will likely need to replace them anyway. I've had to do this, among most on here probably, and just cut them and replaced with new.
I had the same issue, the fittings are so soft they'll round of even with the flare wrenches. I had to use an adjustable pipe wrench, the grip increases with the more torque you put on it. It'll chew up the fittings but should get them off, mine were solid at the carb and the pump.
It wasn't easy, but I did it! I bought two 30" fuel lines at O'really and bent it with cheap HF tool. I messed up one line, cheap took needs some practice.
Check out the result! It's not exactly the original, but works well
