Emblem Removal
How in the world do you remove the cowl emblems, the FORD letters off the front of the hood and the EXPLORER emblems off the bed of a 1979 F100 Explorer? Their is no way to get behind them. I hope you do not have to destroy them. Mine are a little dull but I have to have them off to paint the truck.

I have done this before. what i did was i took a flat head screw driver and pushed down on it and pryed it up, you have to be carefull because on the back side there are two prongs that stick into the truck and you dont want them to break. if you cant get behind it lift up the hood and pound the prongs from the backside.

I have looked behind the letters and emblems and you cannot visably see any pins or prongs. I will try it with a screwdriver. I guess worst case scenerio would be an adhesive and new emblems if they break.
