Question about 1961 Econoline Series Code

The Ford Truck Parts book says that in 1961:
E10 is a pickup or van
E11 is a Station Bus
E12 is a Custom Bus

Is this true that the E10 in 1961 could mean either a van or a pickup?
Or was there a E14 Series Code for the cargo van in 1961, and the book is wrong?

Thanks

VIN series code (first 3 digits): E10 = 1961/67 Econoline 1/2 ton pickup.

I've looked at the data plates for 13 Econolines from 1961 that start with E10, and some of them are vans, not pickups.

I have yet to encounter a 1961 Econoline warranty number that starts with E14.

I'm beginning to think that the Ford Truck Parts book is right, that in 1961 they used E10 for both the van and pickup.

Apparently they did not differentiate between the pickup and the cargo van until 1962.
