Sunpro or Autometer....ordering tonight!

Well I'm sitting here comparing both in the internet...and i can't decide. I was about to order a set of glowshifts a few weeks ago but some last minute expenses left me short on cash. As far as i can tell, they're both good, reputable companies.

Im thinking EGT 1600, a Scanguage, and then either a 60 or 35 lbs boost....i eventually am going with stage II's or III's and an H2E, so I don't know if i should get the 60 although ill probably only ever see like 40, or just stick with the 35lbs gauge....input?

For the money. Sunpros. I put the Pyro in the other day as the auto meter lead crapped out and the whole sunpro pyro to match my boost and oil psi was the same as the lead. It works great and is much more responsive then the autometer.

And 60 would be my choice on boost.

Sunpro cp7050 is the part number. I have the glowshift 3 gauge a pillar pod in mine. These are an affordable set to get you some well needed info. I will say though that my next truck will more then likely have isspro ev2's as Ive heard nothing but good. But are out of the current truck budget.

I think you can get the same thing from Glowshift for about the same money and it comes with a pillar pod that will fit the truck, instead of the "universal" one sold with that kit.

Jim at Rosewood sells Glowshift and you can buy them direct from Glowshift as well. You can get the 3 gauge pod, and the three gauges typically used (EGT, Boost and Trans Temp) and the wiring kit for less than $220.

92-97 Ford F-Series Truck Custom Gauge Package

Not quite as inexpensive, but with the Sunpro kit it looks to me like you would have to buy the pillar pod as well to get a good looking kit. Their pod is a one size fits all type of thing from the way it looks.

For the money, I would get them from Jim. At least you know you're dealing with a reputable company. Nothing wrong with sending a few bucks to a site sponsor either (especially when their prices are so reasonable). Gotta support the guys that support our niche market you know?

I've never tried the sunpros but all the gauges I've ever put in my vehicles have been Autometers... Good quality and good service... I think I bought my 3 gauges for like 230 and a pod for 40 bucks or something...

I was going to get the sunpro set but found a good deal on some of the 7 color glowshifts. Theyre pretty cool looking and seem nice enough. Egt, boost, and trans but I still haven't decided what to do with the trans. I need to just look and see if theres already a port on the zf.

I run autometer's in my Jeep and my son's scout and they are good gauges. I recently replaced my gauges in the truck with Isspro EV's from diesel, performance, dodge, ford, chevy, gauges, smarty, edge,S&B Filters. Three gauge set without egt probe because I had one was $220 shipped. The Ev's I got are a very close match to the factory dash gauges.

I don't have any direct experience with them but there was a couple of guys around town here that had a couple of problems. Imo it would be better to spend a little more the first time for better quality and be done with it. I know about tight wallets, mine is tighter than a crabs a$$ and that's watertight.
