Say...maybe one of you can point me in the direction of a specific clunking rattle noise from the front end over terrian flaws like potholes, speed bumps and abrupt edges. I'm new here and haven't been to every thread but I've read some of the other complaints however none so far seem to be the same as what I'm hearing. Is there anything you can think of beside the brake calipers? (I rode the brakes and can still hear the noise.) Something definately sounds loose...I may have to crawl under there with a hammer.
Found sway bar bolt about 1 turn loose.Could just turn it by hand,so tightened it up and clunk all gone.Still need to grease driveshaft splines as soon as I get factory boot cover retaining starps
Yeah I have the same nosie i hear coming from the drivers side front is that where you hear yours.... I had it checked by dealer and they didnt seem to hear it or see anything wroung... and I crawled under and everything seemed fit and tight....but u know it has to be something because it didnt start doing til just a bit ago.....well hopefully i can get it solved because i hate hearing it....lates
i had the same noise, in my truck. the culprit was an elongated hole in the left front sway bar. a new bolt was installed, and tightened up as far as it would go. the noise is gone for now.... but sooner or later, the bar's going to have to be taken off and repaired.
Thanx pancartom, I'll check that too...someone else said something about the torsion/sway bar just a few posts before yours. Haven't had a chance to get under there though...studing for a big test in Denver this week. It'll have to wait till I do an oil change when I get back...Ted
Well took it to the dealer again and they seemed to find the problem it was coming from the left rear shock mount .. aparently the botl was loose and vibrating against the frame and vibrating to the front of the truck giving the impression that it was coming from the front.....well the sounds gone and i am very happy to be clunk free....hope this might help someone out there........
