Hey schoo I have the service manual for a 63 F250 4wd. It should be almost identical to your truck. Maybe only slight differences if any. Any info I can help you with until you get the book you are looking for.

CA: Whatever the month sticker is on the rear license plate, it's registration time.
Example: Oversized tub in my sig pic bought new 1/22/2011, so the tags expired 1/22/2012. Cost me over 300 bucks to buy new tags good from 1/22/2012 to 1/22/2013.
Older vehicles with commercial license plates, the tags cost much less. Older vehicles with non commercial license plates (most are cars), the tags cost much less than with commercial license plates.
Oversized tub has commercial DP (disabled person-handicap) license plates. These plates are similar to personalized plates, except they don't cost anywhere near the same price.
These same DP plates have been on every daily driver (8 vehicles; 3 cars, 5 trucks) I've owned since 2001. 7 of the 8 were bought new.
When DP plates are on cars, they are not commercial plates, but when on trucks, they automatically become commercial DP plates.
The only way to avoid expensive to register commercial plates on trucks is, you have to have a camper shell or camper permenantly mounted.
