which has a better ride put some 3/4 ton springs in the front or put a levelin kit block in? i cnat find any leveling kits for a 89 f150 supercab 2wd
any help thanks
I have a 1991 f150 2wd and i put the 2" ebay coil spacers for $50 and they work good. But after you put them in you gotta get new camber bushings to align your truck.
I have 3/4 ton (F250) coil springs in my 2wd and have considered just going back to stock springs with coil spacers, the F250 springs only gave me 1.5" of lift in the front and I was hoping for a little more. Ride is a bit on the rough side too.
This is a common and inexpensive lift with our 2WD trucks, the front coil springs you're looking for are designated for an F-2/350. I got ones made by Moog which is a really reputable company and the part number was "CC844"; ordered them from my local Advanced Auto Parts but you can get them off eBay, too. Folks on here say the "CC844S" springs lift a hair more but make the truck that much harder to align. The CC844 ones swap right in but you will definitely need an alignment including new camber bushings and such.
Here is my 2WD truck before with 31" tires:
And after the swap, gave it an almost 2" lift:
Pretty level, front is still a bit lower and indeed the ride will be a bit rougher. It ain't rough just not so cushioned like you're accustomed to with your 150 springs.
the ebay listings say the spacers wont for for extended cab trucks.. when i emailed and asked why they said the extended cabs have bigger springs..... i called bull on that one. the parts counter at ford confirmed they are all the same parts so i got the spacers for my extendedcab truck. they work great
I'm about to put some Superlift 117 springs back on mine. I've had them before and the ride is only slightly stiffer than stock. The best deal I've seen on them recently is from Amazon. Summit and 4 Wheel Parts have it. I'd pass on the spacers.
