when your cranking is there white smoke from the tail pipe?
Is the CEL ( Check engine light) illuminated?
...do NOT use Ether to try to start your engine...
...verify the oil is full and how many miles on the oil?
...if you should take the PCM out of the truck...do not have the keys in the ignition...
...thats a start

I think I read somewhere on these forums that PCMs are not interchangeable unless they have the same numbers.

Get a new PCM from Ford o IH. The one from autostores doesnt work well.
Are the batteries fully charged and the starter is working well? This beast needs a lot of juice.
Also check, the level in the HPOP reservoir it has to be near to the top at least 1".
some PCM can be interchangable: standard to standard; auto-auto.

good luck.

Ok, so since a pcm from the auto parts store was only 100$, i decided to go that route, but I cannot for the life of me get the PCM out. When i took the boot off, the pcm case was very corroded and has apparently grown fast to the steel tray that it sits in. I have tried copious amounts of force and this thing has not budged one inch. I did manage to get the code off of it, and it is a TEE5, model DPC-202 with part # F5TF-BJF. The thing is, the pcm the store is selling cannot be bought without a core which is a problem considered mine has yet to come out. I've been scouring for a place to buy a compatible pcm but no dice. any suggestions?

I figured I ought to let someone know that we found the problem. The IDM had gone bad. I changed the pcm with an identical one, and it changed nothing. I then bought a re-built IDM from Automodulesource and it fired right up.

Glad you figured out the problem. What does the re-built IDM cost?

My 95 7.3 diesel started this morning after glwo plug light went out. Idled about 1 minute then died. Water in fuel and fuel filter light came on. I changed the fuel filter. But no change. Still won't start and lights still on.

Is your fuel bowl staying full? The sensor wires are on the side of the fuel bowl.
