Well since my truck needs ball joints, u joints, wheel bearings, etc, I'm debating on just putting a Dana 60 in front. It's currently lifted 6 inches with the TTB front (F250) and I think it'd be a better ride with a solid front anyways. What all do I need along with the axle to make the swap?

You'll need the track bar and bracket, of course with your lift you'll need an extended track bar, the tie rod and drag link and the u-bolts and plates. I think that's it.
I'm not sure but I think you have to change the whole hub, not just the rotor, and I'd measure the width of the spring perches and make sure they are the same. I haven't messed with dually trucks that much, but I've read on here that the cab and chassis trucks had a narrower frame in the rear. I don't know if it would be different in the front. Are the axles from cab and chassis trucks or just dually pick ups?
By the time you change the hubs and rotors, would you still be ahead on price, or would it be worth it to spend the extra $ get one from a SRW truck and throw it in there ?
I'm guessing it'd be worth the money to get the axle from a SRW. I believe I saw awhile back a thread where someone did a detailed instruction on a swap they did but I can't seem to find it.
The only difference between the SRW and DRW front axles is the hub and spacer. The spacer is bolted to the hub and rotor and it can be removed and redrilled to accept the knurled press in lugs or if the DRW axle has balljoints and bolt on calipers like your 97 you can just use the caliper, rotor and hubs from the D50
One other thing to look when you buy the axle is the passenger side knuckle at tierod hole it could be egg shaped at bottom. I didn't pay no attention to this when rebuilding mine and put a new ball joints in and bolted it up put the new long tierod bar in hole and has to much play. Called the guy where I bought the axle and he sent me a replacement but it was egg out too. O and you mit have to drill out the frame for the sway bar mounts too. Mine is a 96 and it does't have the hole.
I've got an 86 D60 under my truck that was originally on a DRW cab/chassis.
What year was the last of the king pin D60s?
I know where there is a '89 F350 that's pretty rough shape body wise, but it has a 460 4spd and a working lift gate on the back. I can get the whole truck for $1000. I thought about buying it for the D60, sell the lift gate for $500 and haul the rest to the scrap yard for a couple hundred.
