Angry Rattle or vibration?

I am getting a strange noise coming from under the bed between 60-70 mph It sounds like it is the heat sheild that is around the exhaust or maybe the rear drive shaft! Has anyone had this happen. it goes away after 70 or when you let off the gas???? any ideas on this one?
thanks guys!

Have you checked your carrier bearing/pinion for alignment? Usually you will notice slop when starting from a stop, but you can also pick up a noise at speed if the alignment is only slightly out. Letting off the gas makes me think it might be the carrier bearing since its only doing it under load - your heat shield should do it continuously I would think.

Rattle or vibration?

It is the bearing in the middle of the drive shaft, about where the fuel tank is. It is supported with a collar held in place with two bolts. A shim is used to maintain bearing alignment, should be a piece of bar stock between the bearing and the crossmember. I put a 4-inch lift on and needed a 1/2-inch shim for proper alignment.

Hope this helps.
