Installed my swamps hv/hf. Went for a test drive. Went 3 miles,turned around,put it in the hot tune. Wot from a roll and it started acting like the uvch came undone. They didn't already checked. No oil in anti freeze or vise versa. Driver wire harness is fine. Runs rough,idles rough and no power with lots o smoke. Again not the uvch,but exactly like it.

As with anything electrical, there's a chance there is a problem with the IDM. Have you called and talked to Swamps? What color is the smoke and how much is there? Got access to a scanner that might determine which injectors are not firing?

 

Hooking up the AE now. Im sure swamps is closed by now. Smoke is black.

 

Hope it's not an injector issue. Dead cylinders shouldn't cause a bunch of black smoke.

If it's IDM related, look for the obvious things like one side that has failed (1,3,5,7 or 2,4,6,8) or a possible 1,4,6,7 or 2, 3, 5, 8 issue. Any of those combinations might point to the IDM.

 

Koeo test pulled up codes 1119,0605,0640,0273,1271,1272,1273,1275,1298,&1293 . Buzz test sounded good,all the same.

 

Start it up and watch rotational velocity or do a contribution test.

 

Started it back up and it started idling high then low then like it started injector knocking harder so I turned it off.
Should I just put in my old IDM n see if that fixes it? I don't want to hurt anything letting it idle like this.

 

I would put the old IDM back in and watch the AE.

 

Did the cyl contribution test,got p0263,0266,0269,0272,0275,0541,&0640. Exhaust stinks like fuel.

 

I'm thinking it's the new IDM. Will switch out tomorrow and see what happens. Will keep you informed. Thanks for the quick response guys.

 

I didn't know you still had the old IDM handy. Yes, by all means put that in AFTER you make the phone call to swamps if you're going to wait till tomorrow. They will likely tell you the same thing about trying to swap the IDM, but listen to what they have to say unless you can't get an answer from them.

 

Sorry to bump in but Ive got a dumb question... Do you have to have a lap top to run AE?
