Park assist problems

Just had a after market stero installed in 09 f250 with back up camera and now the park assist is not working does any one have any ideas what went wrong. The shop that installed the stero taped into wire in colum. They claim they do this all the time, and could have not been any thing they did, but it worked when I got there. No lights go on, on the button when pressed.

You have to remove the button to access the center dash, did they plug the switch back in?? The whole piece the buttom is mounted into just pops out, it is easy to check.

I'm very confused why they would tap into column wires?!?!?! The whole cover will pop off, i used plastic pry tools to gently pop it loose. If they say that they checked it, they probably have (easiest thing to fix and say oops sorry). When i installed my backup camera i did not have to tap any dash wires. Very confusing !!!!!! Let me look at mine real quick, but if i remember it is pretty easy.

The monitor /stero they said needs power to switch to video aux 1 when put in reverse. I don't understand why they got power from there. They claim to do this all the time. Audio express did the work. The sensor looks like its pluged in. Do you think mabey the button got shorted out . Power on 4wheel drive switch works. They say it's the same plug but after looking at it it's not but looks like it all goes to one harnest. Do you think mabey they pulled out wire out of plug?

I took it back 3 times and they claim they did nothing wrong and can't figure it out. They said to take it to the dealer and if they could prove they messed it up they would pay to fix it. It worked the day I got there.Does any one know if fords extended warranty will cover it if they can't prove that it was damaged by audio express.

I would undo what they did by unsplicing and putting it back to normal and see what happens. It is probably one wire they spliced into. Can't be that hard to figure out.

I wonder if they shorted out the switch?

Maybe someone can advise how to test swtich with a meter to see if it is bad.

Did the rear camera come on when you put in reverse?

To check the switch with a meter, when its off it will read OL and when switched on it will show something like 1-2 ohms..the main thing to see is that its showing resistance. Don't forget to check this while in reverse.
