I did the first oil change in my truck today, owned it for maybe 6 months, and put a whopping 1500 miles on it haha. I have been checking the oil regularly and it looks clean and the level is staying even.. All looks great. I drain the oil it still looked new...
I go to fill the oil and remove the filler cap and its PACKED with what I like to call "baby puke" the creamy white oil like foam.. When I blew my head gasket f150 it looked just like this.. So I started letting out a few choice words when my new neighbor heard me and said whats the problem, she is a mechanic, yes a she haha.. So I showed her what I was pissed off about and said said hows the oil look, and I showed he the drip pan and she peaked in the coolant bottle and started laughing.. She said it looks like that because you drive 2 miles to work, said the short trips kill the engine because it doesn't allow any condensation to evaporate.
Not doubting her, but just wanted to confirm that you guys agree that her suspensions could be correct haha
Could this mean I have issues with my PCV or who knows if this engine even has one??
Yep, she's right. Short trips don't allow the engine to get to operating temps which will cause many things such as, what you saw in the top of your oil cap, kills your mileage with it running in warm up mode all the time, and carbon collects in the exhaust which clogs things up over time.
Get it out on the highway and let it cruise along at no slower than 55mph for 20 miles or so and your truck will be much happier.
