the diff in a 4 gear housing and 3 speed as far as i know is the larger trans mount pattern and the four gear uses a couple of different mounting brackets for the linkage for the clutch pedal . they look the same but the mounting pattern on the brackets is a little different . i got it all laying around here and if i can find the time when i'm not in the white ih at work or the honey do list i'll try and get some pics . the pedals are all the same . the housing , the little brackets i got from jon on here are the only difference in putting the heavy 4 in my 53 1/2 ton .

I have a 1953 f100 I am restoring it is a basket case and some of the parts are missing , the bell housing you have a picture is missing ,would you sell the one pictured? It is a marmon 4x4

I don't have any of those, it's just a picture from Google. Do you have a flathead V8 or an OHV 6?

Welcome to FTE. We would love to see pictures of your truck even if it is a basket case. And being a MH would do you know of its history etc.
A few of us on here are working on MH trucks.
I think i still have a bellhousing from 53 but think its for a 4 speed? Your f100 is a 3 speed i assume?

I have no connection to this one, which is for a Y-block, but it's for a three-speed:

The first pic is the '53 flattie bellhousing for the LD 3-speed.
The second pic has the dimensions for the LD 3-speed bolt holes. The black is the outline of the machined mounting surface, the blue is the factory ford holes, the orange is the approximate locations for the S-10 T5 transmission holes.
From Ross's pic, it looks like the 4-speed bellhousing would be easier to modify for a T5. If that,s not why Chappys4life is looking for a bellhousing, sorry for the hijack.

this is clasie37 I am new to this club so I am flying by the seat of my pants. I love old fords ,I presently have 36 coupe ,40 pickup, 41 ford coupe, all restored, and now I am working on a 53 f100 and need a bellhousing like in your pic.LD 3spd the blue on is it for sale? jk
The problem with the '53 V8 bell housing is they only used it for one year on the USA trucks. In '54 they went with the new Y-Block, so the bell housing changed. It is my understanding they still used the flathead V8 in Canada in '54, and the bell housing is the same.
I just checked the classifieds here and over on the HAMB and there are none for sale at this time.
My best advise is to keep asking here, and keep and eye out on eBay and your local Craig's List.
And welcome to FTE.

I have a TAAK-7505-B that came with my 53 F100. The truck came from the factory with a flathead V8 but the engine was gone when I bought the truck. I am assuming that this bellhousing was the original but can't be sure. I am headed out to my storage barn tomorrow so if someone needs it let me know before then and I can bring it home with me...otherwise it may be weeks before I head out that way again.
