A/C questions

I'm trying to check the pressure on my A/c and want to make sure I am using the right port. I think it is the one on the passenger side on top of the evaporator. Is that right? THe is also a port by the battery that reads evap service port PSI maximum ... But I was told that I was not to mess with the port on the drivers side.
heres a pic of my engine and I circled the spot where I think I should my homepage

You want to check the pressure on the low side of the compressor. To locate that there are 2 lines/hoses connected to the compressor. The low side it the fatter of the 2 lines. Follow that line back until you find the charging port. This is where you want to check the pressure.
