Well not sure whats going on but beast woild not start this morning ot cranked super slow the tried to backfire and it smoked a bit oit of the carb and not to mention it has lost two quarts of oil in the last couple days...
Darn, my truck looks really orange in those photos. Must be the combo of the sun and camera flash.
Yeah Micah, I saw that... When my old F250 I had in Montana did that, it turned out the timing had jumped. The gears and chain were shot. It was strange since it ran fine the day before, but when I went to start it the next day, it cranked normal a couple times, then slowed down and backfired through the carb.
I wasn't 100% sure on my old beast because it needed a new carb too. Went ahead and replaced that, and it became really evident it was timing. It was just weird that the truck ran fine when I parked it, then wouldn't start the next morning.
That truck had a 400 with about 170,000 miles on it... I guess the timing chain and gears were just a tad worn, lol.
When was the last time you checked the oil before it wouldn't start? I'm always forgetting to check the oil in mine. It's got several leaks: oil pan gasket, valve covers, rear main...
