I stopped at our local dealer last night and was talking to the sales manager there. He said that they have already ordered 7, 2004 F-150's, and that they were told to expect them in early Sept. He was saying something about they are raise the GVW's of the new trucks to 7,000 lbs and he said that they may offer a 8000-8400 lbs GWV package. Has anyone heard anything about this??
If they are planning to build trucks with this GVW then there will be one in my driveway this fall

OK, so then if you need this why not buy an F-250 and be done with it? I'm still having a hard time understanding the concept behind a half-ton-truck-with-three-quarter-ton-truck-springs.

Yeah, I suppose. So what it's going to come to is this: we're going to get rid of the F-250 and F-350 because they are no longer needed. And we'll just offer the F-150 with any chassis / springs / brakes combination you want. That's what it sounds like they ought to do and get it over with...because as it is it's starting to get really confusing for people needing a new truck.
