you need to change out the flow valve on the power steering pumpit where the line connects into the back of the pump.

Yea I could do the basic rebuild but the nice thing about red head is they will machine out for the bearing in the box that the factory never did which will make it last a lot longer then doing a basic seal repair every couple years but that's last on my list of things to do considering the price they want

Those plates look like they will fit in good sure would be nice to get such clean edges would save me a lot of time on any fab work I do instead of having to grind them smooth ive been slacking on my crew the past week been busy with house work myself I did manage to get my rear leaf shackles to where I like the angle the mounts could still be moved back another half inch I think that'd be the perfect position I should be getting a welder next week and then ill just need to run some wiring for a 220 outlet and I can start on the engine mounts BTW I must say I do believe that's the first time I seen some good looking cooking on the forums lol

ha... ya i thought that would be funny... did u get any pics updated on ur build thread i would like to check it out. and im right there with ya motavation is a hard thing to work up after a long day... i thought about doing them all by hand but there is no way. it would take forever. i used 3 foot pieces of card board and cut them all out to what i needed and just doing the cutting on them was makin me dread the boxing it in... if i wouldnt have had a friend with a table, im positive i would have paid whatever to have it done it was worth it... the intire frame is boxed in less then a day. just have to go back and burn it all in. i dont know how many machine shops your close to but ide see what it would cost vrs doing it urself, but its doable. but i bet after that you would never want to cut another piece of steal again. i wouldnt. even if you bought the steal and paid for labor i bet it would save ya some money.

Glad you made some progress i finally updated the spring swap thread was wondering where you've been that frame sure looks like its up to the task of the cummins now any idea on what your doing for the engine mounts? I see a lot of people using red type bushings looks like leaf spring bushings I need to figure out how I want to do my mounts so I can get the material and get my wire ran for my welder I just picked up and ill be ready to start on the cummins being in for the final time

got a welder huh.... good deal, ur rollin now. and yes im thinking of two or three ways to do the mounts. one being the bushing type mount. i like the idea, and i can see them being as strong if not stronger then anything else. im going to wait till i have it in and blocked into place to set it all up and decide witch way to go with that. and good deal im going to go find ur update when im done here. looking forward to it. broght a doner block home tonight to bolt everything up and mach it all up. took a cupple picks of some stuff.

stupid photobucket...

k ill throw some pics up later.

Yup finally have my own welder after using everyone else's for years hoping to have the power ran and lay some beads by end of the weekend as long as I can get the plugs and cord for the power my thread should be on page 2 of this forum I want to take a pic of the whole truck just to show how big it is now all leaf no lift blocks which is what I was going for I might be picking up a set of 40" tires and rims and a corporate 14 bolt rear axle this weekend also I ordered some bushings for my motor mounts today so ill have everything I need to start mocking up the mounts next week if your going to use the bushings method check out autofab.com great Ford people and experience in off roading I got my bushings through them I also got my 460 swap mounts from them same concept of what ill be making for the cummins was going with a 460 and zf5 speed but half way through the 460 build the diesel fever kicked in

the trans has been rebuilt with the 5th gear nut tacked... so should last for forever. t case has an issue though. but ill pull into that later.

now that i have the block and trans in i think in going to go with the bushing style mounts and use factory trans mount and build new cross member. i did cut into the two wheel drive cross member a tiny bit in one spot. but i really didnt have to. just gained a tiny bit of clearance. it looks small in there with out all the trimmings.

You've came along way from where you started me and you are about the same place in our builds almost the same build between us seen you put the engine trans and t case in all together reminds me of unloading my fully dressed cummins auto trans and t case out of my truck what an experience that was I sold my trans and t case and got a nv4500 2wd and looking for a divorced NP205 now for it are you using the dodge 241? Remember if you will be using the cummins A/C pump it hangs off the bottom side of the engine a good bit I have to trim my crossmember more to get it to sit in the frame where I want it right now its sitting angled what kind of bushings are you going with? And are you cutting out the 2wd crossmember and building your own?

crap.... ac pump i forgot i will make it work though i guess.... im gonna leave the 2wd crossmember alone i took i tiny bit out just to get it to sit in there a tiny bit lower and tuck it under the cab for front clearence. but very small when i get the motor back out ill take pics of what i took out. and boxing it back in. and im going with the bushing style mounts. ive herd of people moving there 2wd mount, but i dont have to. so its gonna work out perfect to do the bushing style. im gonna put the fan on and put the radiator and and rad support on and make sure i have clearence and build some mounts. and yes im going to run the dodge np241 t case. a friend of mine is going to run the 2wd nv4500 and same t case as you are so i will for sure turn him onto your build. he will like it. and i know it were comming along pretty good so far no major set backs.... so far. get that welder diled in...
