You don't need to post the same thing 5 times...
The transmission E code is the E40D transmission. Which is all computer controlled. Check engine light come on? I would imagine that it tripped some kind of code if your tranny won't shift.

no check engine light didnt come on. ive takeing the batter cables off to reset the compter still same thing. the cross mem bar on trans did get bent back alot and the heat sheld on the trans got ripet off. i pull off the wires that go to the right side of the trans and still the same thing i unplug the speed sencer on the rear end and still same thing i have the same truck but its the eb truck and when the speed sencer on it went out i could drive untill it went into drive and they was nething like it was in neutrel. but when i pulled it from this one this the same as if i didnt pull it. i can drive it just have to put it in 2nd to take off and when i put it in 1 its like its in 2nd. it drives ok just no down or up shift. my other 94 has no over drive its there cause i can be doing 55 or 60 and go from d to n and back to d and theres over drive but only for a few secs and back out of over drive and have to take it out of over drive or its like it goes to neutrel. one truck is stuck in over drive and one of my drive wont go into over drive boy o boy want to to

Like I said, you don't need to say the same thing more than once...
It almost sounds like it's in limp mode. Where something is drastically wrong, yet it will let you limp it to a destination, which in your case should be a repair shop to straighten out everything you messed up. If you ripped off the shield, you probably ripped off some wiring or something.

I think the transmission will start off in 4th gear if the connections to the solenoid block are open. The solenoid block connector is on the passenger side of the transmission. Even though you may not have a Check Engine Light On there will probably be some stored codes. Especially if the connection(s) to the solenoid block are fubarred. Those codes may lead you to the root cause.

That is exactly my point. If it acts the same plugged in or not plugged in then you more than likely have a wiring issue.
