MBRP Rant

I am beyond frustrated! I ordered a 4" turbo back stainless system a couple of weeks ago from an authorized retailer and was very pleased because I got 10% off. It arrived in a timely fashion. I opened the box and everything appeared to be there. A few days later I gathered all the tools necessary for instalation. I was about to remove the stock exhaust system from my truck and thought I had better double check that all the parts were there for the MBRP system. I'm glad I checked because I found the new exhaust didn't include the hanger clamp. It was a Saturday and the manufacturer was closed. I contacted them Monday morning and through a series of phone calls and emails I was told the clamp would be shipped out last Tuesday. I had asked that they expedite the shipping and in an email that I took to have a rude tone told me they didn't expedite the shipping. I emailed MBRP and told them I thought their customer service was poor and that frustrated customers would appreciate better service. Well the replacement arrived today and it was the wrong clamp. I was very specific about the missing item and am scratching my head wondering how they screwed it it up. I emailed the same MBRP customer service agent I worked with previously to notify her of the error. I was more detailed in describing the missing item and requested overnight shipping. Their office is closed and I don't expect a response until the morning. I hope I have better luck this time around. Thank you for letting me vent.

Sorry for the problems you are having. I just put on the Magnaflow stainless exhaust and have been very happy with it. I also got 15% off and it even came with band clamps instead of the normal exhaust clamps. It is a really nice system if anyone is looking to install a new exhaust.

I heard back from MBRP this morning and they are overnighting the correct part. They were also very courteous and apologetic which was nice. Can't wait to get it. I have the next 4 days off from work so will have plenty of time to get it installed.

Thinking of getting the 4" MBRP myself. Did you go with the muffler delete, or are you going with a muffler?

I found jacking up the trans and removing the crossmember made it way easyer to get the pipe down from the turbo. You kinda have to twist it and lift the end up and it will come out. It took about 3 hours by myself not rushing. Remember you may have to cut one piece of the pipe to length behind the muffler. I think they make it longer so you can opt not to use the muffler.

I went with a muffler system. Had it for about 1 day and took the muffler off because it was waaaaay to quite. Put muffled delete pipe in and love it. Took about 2 hrs with a little help with the downpipe.

The missing clamp arrived this morning as promised so I'm back in action. I don't plan on being gentle with removing the stock exhaust system. I plan to go crazy and cut it up and yank it out.

Don't forget to grab a couple new blades for that Sawzall !.
I thought i had sharp blades and didn't . I had to stop working on the pipe to make a road trip to get me some up at the hardware store. A new blade cuts like butter. Old blade is like work !.

Thanks for the sharp blade tip. I need to run to the store in the morning to find a 12 sided socket to take the compressor housing off so I can put an ATS housing on and will pick up some new blades.

Dull saw blades can be dangerous. Just like a dull knife, or a dull friend.

You know what Im sayin'. The friend who does you serious injury or gets you in trouble with the law and says "Well hell, how was I supposed to know that would happen?". That is just the kind of excuse you get from a dull friend. Dull, as in "not the sharpest saw blade in the tool box".

I hear what you are saying about the gauge installation. I recently installed mine and it took me 2 full evenings to get it done. I ordered the exhaust through XDP (Extreme Diesel Performance). I used promo code "diesel10" for 10% off.
