94 5.0 Lost power.

So I've been Driving this truck for about 2 months after i fixed the shifter on it. its a 94 150 5.0 5 spd 4wd. I drove it from Vancouver to home. 70 miles. I had 3 das off work and wanted to visit. It ran fine like always driving home. Yesterday, I went out to this place with my friends and they talked me into wheeling it. I cant believe i did. After.. I noticed it was running hot. I opened my radiator cap and lost all my coolant. Drove 2 miles to get some. It was smoking when i got to fred meyers. got coolant and water put it in.. and it was running fine again. Its got a K&n cold air. so some water got sucked up into it. Stupid again. I know. but today i went to builders supply to get some paint thinner and noticed it was bogging down completely when i was driving up hill.. barely even made it.

Things ive done already.

Fuel Filter.
The exahust before the Cats is running 2 Psi.
Vaccum is holding a steady 13-14 psi.

I need this thing running ASAP. I did notice that when i was driving.. it had a vaccum leak type sound coming from it. Sounded like it was by the transmission.. being a stick theres no vaccum lines connected.. but i dont know what else to do

So you drove the truck 2 miles with no or very little water in it? And also let the water that boiled out into the intake?

More than likely you toasted the engine. This thread has some useful information for troubleshooting when someone else pulled the same boneheaded stunt: https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...-be-toast.html

Check for a vacuum leak, if its loud enough that you can hear it, chances are you have a substantial one, big enough to make it run weak and work hard enough to get hot. The "smoke" that came from your tail pipe could have been from it sucking in water. Often we assume any visible vapor coming from the tailpipe, while its running hot means the head gasket has blown, when really its the normal steam that might come out as a result of the cats working. Look over it carefully, If you only knew how many cars I bought because someone said its a head gasket or the engine is toast, only for it to be much less severe....
