Cold starts?
Cold starts but not in cold weather, only happens with a full tank of gas ? My 02 F250SD 5.4 6 sp LB 4.10 with 31K has since day 1 had this problem but it's gotten better. After filling up it ran real rough but only cold, truck shook, blacken tailpipe and sometimes stalled, terrible exhaust fumes. Dealer checked it out 3 times, said it's fine? Now it doesn't shake or stall but the fumes would kill you on a full tank. Mileage doesn't seem to be affected.I'm getting in commuter traffic 14.87 mpg with an everday payload of 2,000Lbs.Accounting milage is easy when you drive 600 miles a week.I'm thinking fuel pressure regulator? Only because this same thing happened to a jeep I owned. Any thoughts? trimman

Forty Fords, it's been awhile since we last talked? Fuel pressure regulator seems to fit. The canister clogged with a new vehichle doesn't register. I've looked for kinked hoses all around and found none. Another aspect when the truck was new with a full tank and cold start was engine noise. Sounded like dry lifters? Not the sound of pre ignition due to the overly rich mixture. Oil pressure is fine and never a quart added. Other than this minor problem that's gotten better with age I Have No problems! Love the thing to death! Compared to my 99 this is heaven! I would buy another tommorow. trimman
