Wow, there's alot of info on this site!
Wanted to say great site, let myself be known, and stick up a shot of my truck...
F250, 2wd, 4sp. It belonged to my uncle that bought it new. It had an engine rebuild awhile back, mild cam, edelbrock carb/intake, headers, etc... Since he always babied the ol girl (and did extra care stuff like an external double oil filter) she runs like a champ.
Been on the fence on whether to sell it, and wouldn't even know how to price it.. That, and she does need a few minor things, which all lead me here.
Great site, and I'm glad to be a part!
That's Eli driving.. and he does NOT like anyone coming near his truck...
The idea of selling it has been a real struggle for me. It's such a nice truck, I've always loved it (I remember when she was baby blue w/ dog dish hubcaps), but the Mrs doesn't like riding in it (crazy), I rarely drive it, and she wants a Harley...
We'll see.
I think you might be right!
Im also a motorcycle entheusiast, we've got a number of friends that ride too, but none of mine are exactly "passenger friendly"...
Either way, I'm not rushing any decision.
I am with the guy that said DON'T sale it, buy your wife her own Harley and do not let here ride with you when it rains or is cold/hot or she wants to drink or has no way to get all the stuff she just had to buy home........
I like the dog too, BTW my wife loves all OUR trucks, open headers and I cant keep her outa the Bronco and she is not a "speed bump" fan, so we get along just fine.
Don't let the misses make this decision for you. Let me tell you from the other side of the fence. I've had Harleys all day long. Custom choppers to stock Sportsters. A bike can not replace the truck. If it's been in the family for that long, sell it to someone in the family you know will take care of it, or keep it yourself. You'll hate yourself later for it. Not only that, but every time you think about it with regret, a certain amount of resentment toward your wife will follow.
As I said, I've had plenty of Harleys. I do NOT have one now. I do have a couple dentsides, though. You think the truck sits alot? Wait until you get the bike. The first summer the bike will get used. After a while, you'll be lucky to put 500 miles a year on it. Keep the truck. You'll be happier in the long run.
