351 swap into 302 1989 bronco

my mechanic is currently doing the swap into my bronco but ran into a problem, my bronco is a 1989 5.0 5 speed, i picked up a low mileage 351 (1993) F150 motor with harness and computer but the harness is much different than whats currently in my bronco, my 89 has a 4 plug setup on the top of the wheelwell and the 93 is different, will my current 89 302 harness run the 93 351 or will i need a older 351 harness, also the 351 probably had a automatic bolted up to it does it matter that im bolting it to a 5 speed, hopefully someone out there did this before and can help me out, thanks so much

DO NOT use any wiring from the donor motor, both of these engines are laid out exactly the same so the complete 5.0 harness will plug right into the 5.8 motor. The 5.0 computer will also run a 5.8 but of course it will run stronger with a 5.8 EEC, but you need a computer from a truck with the same powertrain as yours. If the one you have now came from a truck with an E4OD automatic it will throw a ton of codes and the motor will not run properly.

Hopefully your mechanic also knows that he cannot use the 5.0 flywheel on the 5.8 since they are balanced differently.

thanks so much for the reply, his major concern was with the different firing orders and he didn't think it would run but he hasn't done this conversion before. i picked up the right fly wheel today for it, thanks again!!

Firing orders don't matter, your 89 bronco will have a Batch fire injection.
