i have an 03 supercrew f150 4.6 and everytime i take it somewhere right after you start it the buzzer beeps 5 sets of 5 beeps and the abs light is on.. does this have to do with the abs? if so or not what can i do to fix it aside from removing the buzzer.
If the RCM (restraint control module) detects Air Bag warning light failure in addition to another air bag system failure, it will send a signal to the GEM (generic electronic module) to produce 5 sets of tone bursts.
So your Air Bag indicator light in the instrument cluster must not be lighting and you also have a hard fault somewhere else in the Restraints System that triggers the tone, to let you know audibly, you need to service the system.
Best to leave the troubleshooting to those who know the dangers of servicing air bag systems. You might try changing the air bag indicator bulb in the instrument cluster to get the light working. That should stop the chime and you'll only be left with the hard fault/s. I think but am not sure the air bag light will flash the fault codes. Maybe you can borrow a factory service manual and read the diagnostic procedures for the restraint system to see if you feel capable to perform repairs.
I agree with Lime1GT. I say you have a burned out air bag light in the dash. Does the air bag indication light when you turn the key on? I had a 98 ranger that had the bag light on and i was tired of it staring me in the face so I took out the bulb and i got the exact beeps your having. Needless to say I replaced the bulb and fix the original problem which was a burned out passenger on/off switch light...go figure....
Hmm from reading up on it that seems to be the most common problem with the system but I can turn off my pass airbag lol. And no it doesn't light up at all so I guess I'm gonna replace the bulb today to stop the annoying chime.
Thanks for the info guys!!
