I'm interested in finding out what color gray Ford used on the block, valve covers, and intake on our trucks. Does anyone know what its called or what the best match is?
I've used the Duplicolor Ceramic New Ford Gray on my 96. It is almost a perfect match. Still holding up beautifully, but I've only put 10K on it since.
If you don't mind a flat look, a friend of Mir used BBQ paint on the block holds up to heat and really easy to notice leaks the valve cover I old use the duplicolor ceramic paint for a clean finish.
I was thinking it might be Argent Silver too. My rear bumper has Argent Silver on the hitch/step area by the license plate. It seems that its a lighter color than the intake, but its hard to tell since the intakes I have both 5.0 and 5.8 are old and kinda discolored.
My '97 5.8 has the intake (at least the upper) painted the same gray as the valve covers. I don't think the lower was painted because I don't remember scraping any paint off when I cleaned it up to turn it red. I can't remember if either intake is painted on my '88 7.5, although the valve covers were still gray.
