Example:

OEM Motorcraft DG508 FORD LINCOLN MERCURY IGNITION COIL #IC91 SET OF 10pcs NEW | eBay

This link has 10 cops $262. Is this what everyone is recommending?

This sale is for 8 cops but at half the price, however I do not see any Motorcraft packaging

OEM Replacement Ignition Coils Ford, Lincoln, Mercury | eBay

Agreeing with TrdLtly here---great find, on the first link anyway! Those indeed seem to be MotorCraft brand, the second something to be avoided regardless the price.

I believe most MC COP's will sell at discounted retail about $40-45 each, not a huge hit if you're just changing one at a time. A package price of $200 or so for all 8 is a great deal---make sure the boots are also included which should be standard. If they're not $8 each is normal for a good brand like MC, NAPA or SMP (Standard Motor Parts) and so on and so on.

eBay is definitely buyer beware though----some sellers put more energy into creating great advertisements instead of offering great parts!

I'm thinking I may need to replace all 10. My X has 103,000 miles on it. I have a thread asking about what is needed at 100,000 miles and have only had on reply.
You mentioned to make sure the boots are included. Don't all coil packs include everything?

Unless the COP's are acting up and/or throwing misfire codes there's no good reason to change them out. Unlike spark plugs they last a long long time---many 10-12 year old vehicles still using the originals!

The boots however at 100K miles definitely need inspecting, most likely changed as they're prone to cause problems after that many miles or length of service. I THINK boots are included with most COP's but its best to check before buying, better safe than sorry or having to buy them separately---the MC brand does come with boots though. Some of the eBay low-ball stuff might not include them so be a smart buyer if using that site.

The boots are available separately for about $8 each though any good parts retailer. Don't go cheap on these---its not worth the up-front savings!

You're heading in the right direction it seems..............
