05 explorer with 4.0 just turned 100,000.
Time to change plugs. Any good tips? All the plugs are right there, so easy to get to, but the aluminum scares me. Also, I've read about breaking the plugs. My bigest fear is getting the plugs out. The rest is easy. I think!!
I would soak them down with PB blaster and probably let it sit over night.
Should I change wires also?
Ford dealer wants $145 for the job.
Thanks.

How did the job fair out for you. I took the air compressor and blew around the spark plugs before I removed them to get anything that was loose out of the way so it wouldnt have a chance of falling down into the engine.
I had it done at my Ford dealers "Quick Lane", along with a few other things. It did not cost $145, they gave me the wrong quote. I figured if something went wrong, they would have the tools to fix it.
