Where does an SG2 get its MPH signal from?

I noticed something aboot the MPH reading on my SG2 vs my GPS.

They are..almost..EXACTLY the same. I mean not only while reading the same, but changing at the same split second! Which brings me to this question:

Is the SG2's speedometer controlled a satellite like the GPS, or by the motherships computer?

The trucks speedo is off by one tick on the dial, or about 2.5 mph @60mph.

It is simply reading the MPH PID from the PCM.
